Enclosure Etching

now enclosure etching seems fun along with pcbs

but i dont have a laser printer (gey)
and press and peel only works with lasers

an alternatives i could use? :idk:

Photocopy shit onto magazine paper.

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

Successful dealings with: blooghost, starcastic, bronzetalon, theavondon, absent, jero, sevenSHARPnine, magiclawnchair, oldangelmidnight, and others that I can't remember lol

Can you find a suitable printer at a local library or kinkos or some shit?


Do they even have those in Australia? Who knows?

Yes, you can use inkjet photo paper....as its just gloss paper.

But you still have to print onto it with a laser jet or photocopyer as its the carbon powder that you need.

Ink from a jet printer wont transfer with heat, unlike carbon powered from the laser-jet.

But most ink-jet inks are still etch resistant.....so you could rig up an old inkjet to print directly onto the enclosure/PCB .....but you cant use the transfer method.

( :poke: laser-jet are only about £40 on ebay.....and well worth it if you want to print your own PCB or enclosures)
