Empress Phaser... Thoughts?
I'm in the market for a new phaser. I've got an old Maestro PS1A, but I'm looking for something new and fancy. I was checking out the empress phaser, and it seems sort of like a LIghtfoot Labs Goatkeeper, except for phase shifting goodness. Any users out there have any opinions to contribute?

I wasn't super impressed by the demos.
Have you checked out the Blackout Effectors Whetstone?
I've got one and it's insane.

I hated the Toadworks Phantasm.
Could never get it to sit in the mix the way I wanted it to, thin, poor envelope control, etc.
I thought the Empress looked cool/more usable, but I haven't any experience with it.
I'm holding out for the Subdecay Quasar Deluxe.

I finally settled on the Whetstone, and love every moment I spend with it. In fact a lot of the time I find myself just leaving it on, whether I need the help of a phaser or not, just so I can get lost in the swirly goodness.
Well, that is until Empress came out with their little green box of lust that causes me to question my devotion to the Whetstone. But their different enough to where I could probably justify owning them both. I've also had my eyes on the Infinitphase or Moogerfooger MF-103, but those wouldn't happen for a while down the road.

I just took the Whetstone plunge!
I was awfully tempted by the Empress I must admit.

I know everyone is hot to trot for the whetstone, and while it does indeed look really nice, I'm more intrigued by the empress. I like the fact that I can control the sweeping rate via MIDI, plus the rhythm sections intrigue me, and since I mainly do synth based productions, the empress seems more my speed. I just want to know how it sounds from an actual person, and not from empress' youtube videos.

The empress is definitely chub inspiring, but I feel like the price is a bit to high considering I won't use the midi control/all of the features.i I dig that it has a clean blend though.
