Okay so I know at least two of you dudes use flats and lots o' fuzz. I've always been a roundwound dude, but my tonal goals have vastly changed over the last year or so, and I'm far more buried in the mud than trying to compete with the thinner strings these days.
I love the low mids, and prefer low tension strings because I bend the fuck out of every note I play!
I use teh Lakalnd flatwounds, honestly the best bass strings I've ever played, you can order teh strings from them directly, I would steer clear from Ernie Ball, their bass strings are meh, I also like DR's and I know some one suggested Rotosounds, which are awesome and actually were the first flatwound strings for bass made famous by John Entwistle.
if you have listened to any of the bass demos i have done on soundcloud those are daddarrio chromes on an ibanez asb140.
i also have addario chromes on the the carvin fatboy and the zebrawood les paul! flatwound strung guitars in fuzzy demos!!!
the thomastik infeld flats have been recommended by a few friends so i might try them but the chromes sound pretty good to me and they are half the price.

No shit Im using an ibanez AGB 140 no flat wounds but I have been thinking of checking them out. I am in love with the pickup! any way about flat wounds I have always had trouble with them feeling slow, my fingers feel like they are sticking to the string. remedies?

play. at first they feel weird but after you get used to them they are like glass. you get tons of harmonics off them too.
i only have the one bass but i can go back and forth from a guitar with flats and rounds with no problems now. you just have to work them fingers in!
I've used Chromes for 18+ years they are MY string! Tons of mids and very punchy, so any time you have heard my clean sound in a demo before fuzz, those are Chromes, if you listen to any of my recording other then the noise stuff, those are Chromes. I also like Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats, they have a nice bouncyness.
