Amp Tech Issues

Post by tuffteef »

hello helloo

sooooooooooooo
my devilles being a zub and not playing nice

usually i would just take it to a tech but just wanted to see if i could maybe rectify it myself

im getting some crackling when playing and fizzing kinda certain notes when playing set it off and it hangs on the crackling/buzzing then stops
pre tubes or power tubes or time to see the dr.

i only ask cause the amps not really my thing and i want to hock it asap but cant do it if its crackling so investing money in an amp i dont want kinda blows
:idk:

the output hasnt droped the thing is overkill loud

its a MIA 4x10 and i think the tubes are like originals from like 1990 man :wha?:

I know shit-all about amp repair, etc. but I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that may be your problem.

Is it the same note all around the neck that sets it off (ie. open E, 7th fret A string, 9th fret G string, etc.)? It may be a bad solder joint or physical connection being vibrated open and close sympathetically.

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

the fizzing on notes im not sure about if its specific notes as i never jotted down which chords notes and stuff
it happens at random times the crackling kinda reminds me of dusty pot being turned

maybe i can try get a recording of it mainly cause its the sound that ruins my recordings
