Digitech PDS series
I am over my DD 5 and want a pds. All I need is a hold function and delay easily adjustable. The most appealing thing from what I understand is the hold function seems to always be accessible. I can't seem to understand the difference between 1002, 2000, 8000, and the 20/20. One has modulation and I think one doesn't allow loop and delay simultaneously, but if anyone could pros and cons me or just give me the specs of ones you've owned.

Re: Digitech PDS series
I think the main difference between them is the delay/sample time. And the price.
-I've got a 1002 and it's pretty nifty. Sometimes the repeats break down and get all glitchy. Don't know why, but it's awesome.
-2 second delay/sample time.
-The loop is the second footswitch, so you just have to step on it...
-The only con I can think of is the loop cuts the delay once it's on. But that's why I have two delays.
Got mine for $50 and don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

20/20 is the one to get
crank up the delay time with the trimpot

It's like we're twins. I have one and got it for (almost) the same price thanks to the good fellows here at ILF.
Dual delays, ftw!
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Re: Digitech PDS series
Thanks for the incite sailorboy.
If time is the difference which is the longest?
How does the loop function work? Is it based upon what you play when held down or what is played before you push down? Is the time determined by how long you hold it down?

Re: Digitech PDS series
I think the 8000 is the longest at 8 seconds.
On the 1002 it's what's before you press it down. The time's actually determined by the delay time, and you can record a loop without the delay, so when you press the delay switch, presto, the loop's playing!

Re: Digitech PDS series
How hard is timing if the time is determined before you push the button? Is it one of those things that sound harder than they are?
Are all the loop functions the same in the series?

Re: Digitech PDS series
It is also fun to set the delay time low and get that really choppy loop type thing.
And you can squeeze like 20 sec out of the 1002 it would probably sound very degraded, but probably awesome.

Oh so you can have it be as long as you desire within the respected time set?
Set to two seconds you could have a 1.5 second loop?

Re: Digitech PDS series
I don't think so, there was a gap when I tried it. The hold just loops the delayed signal infinitely, so I think the time you set it at does matter.
Or maybe I'm not very good and haven't been able to get it right.
