Re: ashdown
My friend Andy used to use the 200w ashdown head and I thought he had amazing tone. I don't think the cab he played out of was anything special, so I always attributed his tones to the amp.
It made me want one at least.

I played a MAG 300 the other day, awesome sound, great features, effects loop, it's a hybrid amp with a 12ax7 preamp tube that you can blend with the solid state pre amp, very cool stuff.

Re: ashdown
their amps are pretty awesome, and i'm having a hard time deciding between one of those and a Hartke A3000
but iunno about their combos if you're looking for that. i'd go for it.

Re: ashdown
Ashdown makes great bass equipment. They have that brit vibe going for them so you get a nice warm yet punchy tone from them. I have a 15w practice amp that surprisingly puts out great tone. They have a nice middle ground but I don't think when you get up in to the higher price range your getting anything super special (Mark King model and the higher level mag heads).

my bedroom amp is an Ashdown "Five-Fifteen" 100watt combo, which you hear in all my prior demos. It does me well :D

Re: ashdown
They are great amps for a mid range rig IMO and the lower stuff is good too!
