Do you run a stereo rig? Because a PN-2 is useless otherwise. Like actually. The rate knob isn't usable until like 3:00. I picked up a Keeley-d TR-2 for $40 off craigslist and it's pretty tits. People need to get over the whole "Boss sucks" thing...

As for a place holder chorus, check out the MXR one...it's subtle and pretty and can be had for pretty cheap. That BBE chorus is pretty nice for the price as well...

Or check out the thundertomate I've got in BST. GREAT sounding analog chorus and that's comparing it to my JC-120's onboard which is basically a CE-1, so

Basically, you could get some pretty decent place holders for under $150...

A Keeley TR-2 for $40? Nice! That's a great score. I'm not afraid of Boss. A lot of their pedals suck, but they also have quite a few classics. I'm not running stereo at the moment, but eventually I want to get there. I mean I could run stereo now, but that would mean I would have to steal my wife's amp, but that wouldn't make mah lady very happy. Perhaps I should get a placeholder trem until I get the stereo rig, then I can buy the PN-2 placeholder until I'm able to get a Goatkeeper. haha.

Now which MXR are you referring to? The stereo, or the Micro? ....... or perhaps you mean the Black Label Chorus. I'd have to get some dimension, but I think the Stereo might be a little wider than the size of the lot I have set aside for it.

What made you decide to move on from the Semaphore? I leaning heavily in that direction at the moment.

What made you decide to move on from the Semaphore? I leaning heavily in that direction at the moment.

It was one of those "too good to pass up" trade offers...I didn't want to let it go, but I ended up with some nice stuff as a result.
Shortly after I got the goatkeeper and I've been convincing myself ever since that I don't need another trem.

I loved the shape knob on the semaphore...the goatkeeper does what it does well (wacky), but as far as traditional trem I really miss my semaphore.

If you're running stereo, there was a Fromel Lush on TGP for $175 or so the other day. That's a killer DC-2 kinda chorus if you like that kind of thing. Kinda wasted in mono though.

Visual Sound H2O chorus

I forgot about that one. I wonder if the circuits are the same between the old and new versions. If so I might consider getting the Liquid Chorus since I would have no need for the delay on the H2O. Might be another to consider. Those Visual Sound pedals are just so fugly though.

According to Dana (their tech), the v1 and v2 of the H20 are exactly the same. The v2 has a preset switch added on the chorus side for a "lush" sound, but that's it. The enclosure is also smaller than the v1. For about a week, I had both versions and Dana was spot on.

One thing I should mention is that if the pedal is stereo it needs to have stereo ins. The reason being is that the El Cap is only mono in , and if both pedals are mono in I'm going to choose the stereo out on the El Cap making it irrelevant that the other pedal is also stereo.

Edit: I guess it doesn't have to have stereo in. Just in those situations where the pedal is only worth getting if it's run in stereo. Like what FS was saying about the PN-2.

Well the pn2 is a pan pedal, it HAS to have stereo or there's no point, IMO. Wish I could afford one

I don't have any experience with chorus or trem pedals, but I'm personally waiting around for the EQD Sea Machine to be released..no clue how much it's gonna cost..but the description of it sounded pretty awesome.
As far as trem goes..if I was gonna buy one (which I might do someday) I'd probably get the Seppuku Repeater.

I could make room for a Sea Machine. Is there a release date yet? I don't feel very motivated to go on a scavenger hunt over at the Earthquaker subforum atm.

Does anyone have any experience with the Hardwire CR-7? Can it pull of CE-2 or Small Clone style chorus'ing?
