You certainly wouldn't have used it, and that's okay. The gesture is what is important here, and that would have made more waves than a cheap fuzz.
But as you said, it's all personal feelings and opinions, based on years in the production world. And you are more than welcome to disagree.
I definitely missed your point here. Perhaps next time you should call it your personal wishlist for fuzz builders you aren't buying anything from in the first place. I would love a free Ferrari but I'm not going to sit online all day and bitch about how they should start a lottery up for guys in their early thirties named Todd. I deeply apologize for implying that you were sipping on some Haterade. I can see now you have only the best of intentions and aren't just talking to hear yourself talk based on some things you've read on the internet. I certainly see this discussion becoming a fruitful vehicle for change.

Better question is: Are there people wanting it to change like it is supposed to sound and mailed Devi with a request to let it do by her.. Maybe she just does a manual on modding it to get a bit of pressure off of her side?

Well, I mean, the manual would be like:
1. Get clipping utensil.
2. Clip.
3.????
4. PROFIT!
I know that a year ago, I would have been petrified to attempt clipping a component off of a circuit board, and wouldn't have tried.
Saying over and over again how easy and minimal the mod is misses the point. If the pedal doesn't sound like it was supposed to because of the error, then it doesn't function as sold.
The jeans analogy would only be applicable if the extra button made the jeans not work as intended.
I haven't bought a Ruby, and all I know about this situation is what is in this thread, but that's my take based on what I know. And the workhorse thing was a WHOLE 'nother facepalm of a story.
Could someone sum me up the Workhorse story? I stopped reading the threads by the time people were scared Devi would never make them.
I had a similar experience when Devi was raising cash for her vocal chords operation and agreed on making me a custom pedal. She ended up not doing what we had agree on (as far as artwork, effects order etc...) and use different parts for some circuits cause the one she needed were not available (like log pots). I'm having someone fixing all of this right now, cause she would'nt agree to do it.
The thing about Devi that people seem to forget or are ignorant to is the fact that she does this for the money. She's stated many times that the pedlul business is only a vehicle for her to make money with which to pay for surgeries.

It doesn't change anything : great customer support has never been so important than since Internet became everyone's n°1 source of information on gear. If you piss off a customer he can go anywhere start a thread than hundereds of people will read, most of them not bothered by hearing only one side of the story. Thanks to boards, everybody knows which builder take support seriously and which don't. And that impacts sales : I'm sure the Skreddy's support reputation has helped sell a lot of pedals.
As far as Devi being business motivated, I always thought she could make her business more profitable by discontinuing a good half of her line and focusing on duals, the TBD and a few singles...

I'm not saying that its a good excuse, just that you can't expect much.
Yeah I got a Ruby and been tryin to figure out how to put this switch in. I asked Devi how to do it and I got a brick wall. Shes sells me a fucked pedal and cant even help fix it. Thats kinda shady IMO

I think the first thing that got people worried was that there were supposed to be 2 versions initially, a "top shelf" SOZO'd version and then a "regular" version, I assume using the same transistors as the regular production models. The top shelf version required a deposit and getting on a wait list, both of which I think were firsts for Devi, at least as far as widely offered pedals go. At some point the second version was scrapped and it was decided that what was supposed to be the first run would be the only run. This may have disappointed some people who didn't get on the list right away or have the money for the deposit at the time. Then it took a while, longer than I think anyone was used to with Devi. There would be updates that were sort of vague (some pictures of all the SOZOs, the etched enclosures) but nothing with a date and there were some comments about frustrations with the process from Devi as well. I personally never thought it wasn't going to get made but I can see how others might have. When the day finally arrived and the pedals ended up in the hands of the people who ordered them there were some issues, some small (broken screw heads) some larger (mine is rather quiet compared to what I was expecting). There was a lot of frustration that lead up to the "I'll give you your money back and then smash it with a hammer" quote.
