I HAVE a vintage Ric 4001 w/badass II... and it's been in pieces for the last four years, even though all I need to do to get it up & running is find someone to do the electrical work on it. :picard:

Seriously, I'm finding that all the newer heavy bands I'm into are either lumped in as or are self-described as "retro" or "throwback." I've played some of these bands for younger friends, and they'll go "Wow - when's that from? It sounds like it was recorded in 1978 or something." And then I have to go, "Uh, no - it was recorded in 2009."

Damnit people, I remember when liking Ministry, Suicidal Tendencies, Metallica and Anthrax was CUTTING EDGE DANGEROUS! Teachers in my high school called home to check with my parents and make sure I was "o.k." because of what I listened to! I wrote scathing papers for English class defending thrash metal as a valid form of artistic expression! And now my friends send me links to "metal cruises" and ask if I'm going...

Sigh.

Clearly, it's only a matter of time before I'm shouting at neighborhood skaters "You goddamn kids keep off my lawn!"

Nah it's just that most of that music is generic and lame and it's only about 5-10% that is genuinely interesting . :hello:

Hem, hem...

I would rather listen to the worst grindcore and death all day then have to ever listen to: The Disturbed, Stone sour/Slipknot, Five Finger Death punch, Shinedown and Avenged sevenfold ect ect Seriously I can't tell which but commercial radio rock is either the best music to kill small animals with a golf club to or to slit your wrists to while watching sponge bob.

And I do have to hear that fucking crap all day at work :grumpy:

OK...
I once kind of inadvertently shot someone with a nail gun....

I was using the gun and my lead at the time wanted it and kept bugging me intill I set it down on the table... it went off... and he got a 2" staple in the gut. It didn't break the skin but he didn't like it either... You could blame me but it was his job to make sure the guns worked right :idk: :erm:

We had just finished an intense round of paintballing, I turned around to pee and my good friend (his dad is in the swat team and happened to be driving his vehicle that day) pulled it out from under the seat and BOOM.

Pissed all over myself. Couldn't really talk the rest of the day. My right hand shook for almost a month. Not sure why.

My car is currently inoperable and I just blew my crappy paycheck on a humbucker and fuzz pedal when I really have no business spending any extra money :joy:

^I once was hit on my road bike by an F250. Did a front flip over the hood, should have seen my hang time.

I will deliver it upon completion of a 14-song doomjazz album.
