I had the DR-07 for a while. Its an excellent recorder. Really good sounding recordings with some spiffy features. If you are doing weird sound experiments the looping function is invaluable. I have a Zoom H1 on the way so I'll report back when I run it through its paces.

I'm sure that either will do you well, I saved up and splurged on the Roland R09, I think it was about $300...

thanks guys!

i think i might go with the dr07. i read a review that was complaining how its a little too noisy for the persons taste. :yay:

the loop button does look dope. as does the slow down/pitch shifting thing.

nice man! the zooms look pretty awesome and they compare the tascam dr 07 to the zooms a lot (similar price range and functionality i think)...however a friend of mine advised me to stay away from the zooms...i have no idea why he did not explain himself.

the 4 mic "3d" capability sounds like it would be dope to use.

how long have u guys had your recorders? how do u feel about the build quality?
are they built to last or na?

the owl cambridge songs on the myspace in my sig were all recorded live in my cousins garage in the 360 degree mode...

two aa batteries last about 4 hours or maybe more i forgot. havent used batteries in it for a while... :erm:

i got this in 2008 i think. i have done a lot of recording with it and it works great. the mics are real sensitive and seem to last. a beer got spilled on it once and it still works. :)*

oh and all the sound clouds were done with this too... :duck:

Check out the Zoom H4. I've heard good things about it, in a field recording capacity.
