Help me sound like...

Post by phantasmagorovich »

OK, I know this is like the lamest thing you can ask for, but I've always loved the distortion sound of David Pajos guitar in Slint. It has this awesome coldness and Wall-of-Sound quality. I guess it's no super-special boutique effect, cause I've heard the same sound on other recordings (f.ex. Belgian Band Gore Slut) and thus I think it is not too special. Any ideas how this tone is created?

Oops, sorry, I thought he was makin fun of me.
So, that pedal really exists? But did it exist back when Spiderland was recorded? I thought a Klon which this seems to be a clone of is used to make you sound 'better'. I was actually looking for 'worse'.

I think what you want is this:

Yea, thought it'd be something like that. I'l try it, thanks for the suggestion. I couldn't bother trying out all the Distortions and Metal and Heavy Mattel and whatever pedals there are. so this is basically the info I was looking for. Thanks again
