My compressor is always on with very little sustain level but full on attack. It gives me this very breathy tone that i've been dying for. I could never find it untill i got this CS-2.

My only gripe with compression is that it tends to amplify hum. BAH!

There are a few effects that I tend to steer clear of..mostly because I don't think I'd be able to do them justice..and two..they just seem too unruly.
1.) Octave-down pedals..especially -2 octaves...they sound kinda cool..but... :wha?: how do you actually use one in a song/use one without blowing up your amp..??
2.) ok i know I'm gonna get flak for this one -puts on kevlar- oscillator fuzz pedals...I appreciate the idea and i understand it's the interaction between the oscillator and the note you're playing, etc...but I just can't quite wrap my head around how i'd actually use one..

The second pedal I've ever bought was a Boss OC-2 that was like 9 years back, still use it a lot never blew up an amp

I use my Boss OC3 quite often, actually. First, I was using it in my old funk band and now I use it to make my guitar sound like a synth (along with Melx2 & EHX Riddle). Octave down pedals can be quite useful... try turning down the bass on yr amp.

I lived through the 80s, and have continuously hated "80s music" since then and beyond. I still don't get the chorus hate thing. Oh well, who cares? Kill it with fire, masturbate your mother with it, whatever. Ring mods are better though.

Anywho, I'm not afraid of effects. Not a big fan of volume drops. Also, subtle shit can fuck right the hell off. But there's no fear involved. It's all love. And HATE. Just not fear. :)*

It seems to me that many people who lived through the 80's essentially lived through a zombie apocalypse of chorus. It was everywhere and wouldn't die, and any use of chorus is resurgence of the apocalypse.

Those of us who lived after the 80's don't seem to have as much a problem with it. Possibly because we weren't reduced to building barricades against the zombie hords that were the bands from the 80's :idk:

Perhaps someday I will learn of the evils, but until then I'll be gassin' for a cosmichorus

I was one who "lived through the 80s", which, for some reason, is phrased like it was a holocaust of evil. I still like chorus.

I think if you don't like chorus, you just don't like it. I can't imagine how "surviving the zombie buttfucking of the 80s" would make you hate chorus, but whatever.

If "Powerslave" and "The Wall" and "Appetite for Destruction" are things that had to be "lived through" rather than enjoyed, I suppose I can't understand that point of view. :idk:

Phasers. Not scared of the effect, I just never figured out how to use it in a pleasing manner.
Had a wonderful EQD phaser for a long time and it never got put to use, so it got traded.

yeah, i'm pretty confused by compression.

and yet i'm 90% sure this latin strat+light chorus sound has oodles of compression...

also envelope filters. no idea how they work.
