NGD. Oh yes.

'73 Musicmaster, got it for $520 yesterday.

I'm fairly certain the guy would rather have sold it to someone who could play impressively, as I most certainly can't. It was quite embarrassing to have to explain that I play in a different tuning and that I don't listen to/play anything that he would be interested in.

:idk:

Nice one!!

Never feel embarassed when testing out a guitar though. You're paying him 520$ for the axe not a penny for his judgement.

Damn, that's sexy. Good find. I understand the awkward exchange thing. Sometimes you're only connection is that you play music, other than that, completely opposites.

You'd think so, but I find with this guitar, as well as the Fender Bronco (basically the same guitar but with a pup in the bridge instead of the neck) that the pickups are very balanced tonewise, not too bassy or trebly.

How does it play? One of my friends got a Musicmaster for Christmas one year and it was the worst guitar either of us had ever played. It had a terrible setup, the pickups were crap, and the neck was too heavy for the body so it wanted to dive.

It plays great, only complaint is that the frets feel like they stick out a lot at the sides of the neck, if you understand my meaning.

Great deal. Personally, I'd have it refretted and enjoy it as a nice 'vintage player.'

BTW, fret sprout is easy for a good luthier.
