Pre-order your Logan 5 ring mod kits! Only $50!

Post by nbabmf »

:hello:

culturejam submitted the final layout for the Logan 5 Ring Modulator to the PCB manufacturer last night and I forked over a pretty penny for the run. I anticipate the boards shipping in about 2 weeks.

The kits are $50 plus shipping, and include all the parts to build a complete pedal... PCB, components, pots, jacks, knobs, switch, and a drilled enclosure. culturejam has written up a fantastic guide to building the pedal, and as soon as the kits start rolling in we'll do a community build thread complete with photos, modifications, troubleshooting, etc.

For this week only, I am offering free shipping in the US and discounted shipping elsewhere. US buyers may PayPal me at seventhirteen@gmail.com and PM me to confirm. International buyers please PM me with your postal code and I will reply with the total.

This is a great idea!

I'd be happy to help out however I can.

There are quite a few projects on my web site in this section:
http://www.forrestwhitesides.com/node/7

I stopped manually updating that listing in the main (middle) part of the page, but the links on the right cover everything.

Of course, there are tons of projects all over the place. Anything you guys pick, I'll be here to help out if you need it. :thumb:

Also, since I'm always ordering parts in bulk (usually 2 or 3 times per month), I'd be happy to organize a group buy for the on-board components (and maybe even the pots and jacks, but I don't normally deal with hardware). Let me know if there is interest in this.

If we go with one of FW's layouts, might I suggest the Vorpal Fuzz? Thing sounds amazing and I've been wanting to build it forever.

I'd like to do this but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to until after the 15th (pay day) :(

Maybe next one though?

It would probably help me learn a lot.

If anybody wants to do the Vorpal Fuzz, I just had really nice PCBs made (black solder mask and white silk screen). They should be here on Wednesday. I'll do one test build and then they'll be available. I ordered a buttload of parts for these, too.

But there are plenty of other fun things to build. You guys pick. :thumb:

i have a major surplus of pcbs for the ring mod i was selling of late. i would have to make some nicer documentation but maybe in the future if anyone wants to try making one of those. basically the place i got them made sent me 2 orders instead of 1 so i have something like 70 pcbs siting here even after building and selling a bunch. :idk:

the vorpal fuzz sounds nice, i would be into making one or pretty much anything really. count me in.

the circuit is none other than the craig anderton one in that book. i adjusted it a bit to take only +9 instead of +-9 which is a bit more annoying. i usually design everything from scratch but i made these pcbs because i was really into the sound after i repaired one my friend had made from the book. i added the ldr probe to compensate a bit for a lack of LFO or any sort of slow modulation.
