Crazy Fun Pedals For Bass!!

Post by Tigerbass »

Greeting fellow ILF'ers!
As alot of you already know, I am also a major fuzz junkie! I have several keepers and am actually fairly set in that dept. But what I REALLY WANT is some crazy cool, fun pedals back on my board...at least one anyhow.
Since most of my fav TB'ers are on this forum, along with alot of other cool people with similar twisted tastes :p , and I know most of you have alot of experience with the awesome builders on this site...
I am hoping someone could recommend any wicked cool fun pedals for bass. I will add that I am not super crazy about oscillation. I have a few pedals that do it, but that is not exactly the crazy I am after. I have tried several mainstreamers, i.e. Noise Box, AB-Synth, CoPilot Orbit, Bass Murf etc. but I think I am after something perhaps a little more modulation-y? :?: :idk:
Anyways If anyone can help a poor pedal addict further fuel his descent into madness, I would be extremely grateful! :thumb:

If you have any other ideas that aren't modulation specific, that's cool too! :thumb:
My biggest criteria is that they work well with passive bass.

Well the 4545 is nothing but a pair of oscillators, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.
I've been checking out the Wrong Side of Uranus, too, might have to talk to the builder when he has more in stock.

Fun-wise, there isn't much more fun than a Pitchfactor (better-suited for deeper pockets).

I dunno, I haven't been into 'fun' pedals too much, sorta a bare-bones set-up. But my posting here will help me see other ideas :D

Dude, you tried a feedback looper? They are fun, they are cheap [most of the time] they do different things depending on what is in the loop.

The square wave setting on the Ibanez PM-7 is wicked fun. I need a new one! Gah! Which one of you assholes did I sell that to?

The high frequency settings can get ridonkulous, too. And, of course, it sounds like a small stone (for the most part).

Also, whammys can be super fun combined with weird modulation and delay.

Well I really enjoy my EHX Micro Bass Synthesizer, can go pretty wild, the Boss OC-2 can also get pretty glitchy which I like, tracking is for pussies

And since a few weeks I have a DOD Bass Flanger can do pretty normal and in my opinion good sounding flange that can also go wild, don't know about the price, but I guess it is affordable..

Take Flight Goose. HOLY BALLS. :omg:

That doesn't pique any modulation interests though, hmm.

What about a Homebrew Frost Bite? That pedal is fucking insane.

I think that is just 1/8th-noting the A-string, WTF. It was pretty boring as a "regular" flanger though, really only good for freakout shit... fuck me why did I get rid of mine?! :(

My EHX BMX is certainly one of my favorite freak-out pedals!
I am talking to McSpunkle now about a special Samurai Switch.
Thanks for the great suggestions so far...any non-modulatoion will surely be considered as well.
I really want a @#$%^& Subdecay Quasar Deluxe, but I know damn well that's a fuckin pipe dream!

I <3 the control on the Baby Quasar, but the sumbitch just wasn't thick enough for me. If the SuperMegaHappy version rectumfries that, I'll probably get one.

Exactly!!! I thought the original Quasar was better than the baby, even at 18 volts.
