Finally pulled the trigger on a MIg 100U.....I am really hoping that it is gonna work well enough with my pedal set up....I can't find a whole hell of a lot of info on the "U"'s out there...I am assuming that its gonna be more of a 100 watt bassman clone and less of a JCM 800 clone(although that is kind of a paradox to say considering ). I definitely took a comprimise on getting an amp that isn't EL34 based... I might try to get the mig converted over to KT66's so I can kinda get the best of both worlds. But, it hasn't arrived yet, so I maybe jumping the gun.
I always wanted a mig ever since I saw one captioned "from russia with love".....now with all that is happening over there in Georgia, I am not too sure how proud I should be now
Oh Goody!!!! I'll be running it through an old 5150 cab loaded with 2 vintage 30's and 2 75's. I am really thinking about getting another cab(avatar all the way) and running it full stacked..But of course there is only so much stuff you can cram into an 85 Corrola when comes time to gig. Of course...I don't even have a band put together yet...oh the joys and sadness of mental masturbation
Well, the mig just came in today.I didn't have any real guitar cabs on hand to run it through, but I did hook it up to a 2x10 bass cab. The mig definitely likes fuzz the bass cab kinda masks the amp's tone a little bit , but I can tell we are gonna get along great it is a bit hissy, but I am sure it is long over due for a preamp tube change. The only thing I would do to it if would be having it set up for KT66's. But I would have to get my other amp fixed first before I could justify doin that.
