Having Trouble Deciding My Next Amp

Post by Connor »

Ok,
So i just moved into college (Portland State University), and i think i want to get a second amp. Right now i have a fender blues deluxe reissue. I think the 40 watts are perfect, because it breaks up right when i want it to. But i think i need something new. I will probably have to leave the fender at my practice space in SE. So what should i get? i like effects, i have a fair amount. I also will probably be playing jazz with it, although i dont feel the need to imitate the jazz tones of everyone else.
For a long time i've wanted a roland jc-120. But.... Ive never played one, and its solid state. but i like the idea of a ton of head room. thats awesome.
So, if the closest thing i can decide on is a jc-120, is there anything else out there that i should know about?

I think that is your best bet. Affordable, clean and works well with pedals. Or if you can find a Sunn Beta Lead and don't mind lugging it around. The best amp I've ever owned.

I've been totally thinking about getting a small 1960s tube amp like an Alamo Embassy or something. Or a little Silvertone or Harmony. They sound amazing. Are cheap. Look like you could get black and white TV on them. :thumb: :)

How loud do you want to be? (These aren't.)
ILF pedals: DE Eye of God, Mellowtone Wolf Computer, Mellowtone Singing Tree LE, Fuzzhugger Arc Flash Oscillator, DSc Miniberator, Mysterious J boost/cut/tremolo pedal
