Amp smells like burning death

I just got back from band practice and while we were practicing my amp cut out then started to smell like something was burning. Its the combo marshall avt 50 so there are no tubes in there I couldn't take the chassis out to check inside but i opened up the back to get to the speaker and the smell got worse. Ive been playing the amp pretty cranked because my other guitarist is using a 120 solid state crate amp along with various fuzz pedals. Any idea of what it could be.

I had an amp that did that. I think it was the speakers that started to smell. It never broke (until I tore it apart), but I always turned it off when it started to smell.

I never figured out why that happened. I suspect crappy speakers, though.

This makes me feel better when i opened the back up my drummer touched the back of the speaker and he said it felt pretty hot so for now ill hope its that. Good thing I keep my good amp at home since we share our practice space and never wanted anything to happen to it when i wasnt there. Maybe Ill head over tonight and take the back off make it an open back cab and see if it even starts up. Thanks everyone maybe Ill just have to turn my Musket and Aenima down a tad.

I have a shitty ibanez combo amp (15 watts), it does this when I play it real loud for a long time. No idea why though
