Need a pedalboard.

Post by adrianlee »

I need a pedalboard. Badly. I've been stringing together 15-19 pedals on the floor for the better part of 3 months now and it's getting entirely too old and repetitive.

It has to be flat. Non powered. I'd like it to have a case, one that I can just lift the top off when I'm setting up. I've been contemplating making my own...I just haven't enough time.

Oh, it has to be big, unless I can get two medium sized cases for a decent price. And, I'm not opposed to paying anyone to build me something rad--Though I'd prefer not to as that would require at least another month of stringing pedals on the floor.

Recommendations anyone?

Err, I don't velcro either...So, if the top (lid, whatever) of the board has foam to hold my pedals in place during transportation, that's a plus.

:erm: I was going to suggest Pedaltrain since I'm a die-hard fan of their product, but I don't think they would work for what you're looking for.

My second thought was building a Gorm board out of the Ikea Gorm shelving, but still...... don't think it's the right fit.

The lack of velcro use is the kicker. The only thing I can think of that would be reliable without the use of velcro would be Drasp's Bedroom Boards. Maybe he could make you a board large enough to fit that many pedals. Since he does it as a source of income, I'm sure you might not have to wait as long as if some hack like myself offered to build you one.

Everyone recommends their stuff to me and, while I like it, I just hate velcro on my pedals. It's an OCD thing maybe? I've got sweet plans for a pedalboard, i just don't have enough time to build one.

They're super rad, I'm looking at them now. I just don't want to spend that much. I CAN spend that much, it just takes away from my 'still need to buy pedal' funds.

I've been looking at these guys of late http://hybridcases.com/09/ :idk:

The bedroomboard idea sounds cool but I do outdoor gigs every now and then, in the boonies... I don't want to have to disassemble and clean every time.

I can't say enough nice things about my PedalPad AXS. I've been using it for about 8 years now. I don't dig their metal-plated or patchbay versions, but my standard AXS is great and the "trunk" allows me to hide my power supplies and power strip, cabling, and store extra pedals, weed, or whatever.

Here is a long outdated shot of my board, but you can see the angle and build of the board. They make several sizes. The lid attaches and latches in a matter of seconds and is very strong.

Went to guitar center today to check these bad boys out. Called ahead, said they carried them, got there, all the had were furman and skb boards. I'm really starting to lose faith in humanity.

Haha. Man, I want to have faith. I want to be able to think that people really aren't as ignorant/dumb/unintelligent as the put off, but, I consistently get let down.

When it comes to building, I'm always serious. PM me, if you want to pursue this.

They are all of the above but they're also smart/caring/respectful at the same time. It really just depends on what day/time/mood you catch them in. I find it's best to assume the worst, so that I end up pleasantly surprised in the end.
