Oscillating reverb

Post by Bellyheart »

After hearing the Spring Chicken demo with the knobs dime'd, I've been desiring a reverb. Since they are no longer in production, I was wondering what else I could get my hands on 200 and under that does the same if not more. So far the only two that might suffice are the Neunaber Wet and perhaps the Chicklet, since it was designed after the Spring Chicken, however, I haven't found a demo that shows this.

Or do I save and wait for the blueSky Reverb?!

the nuenaber wet doesn't self oscillate, it gets really long but not spiralling-out-of-control long. the spring chicken is by far the best oscillato-verb because of the expression pedal input, they really nailed it with that pedal. chicklet oscillates but it's not controllable. you can still get the 'ltd edition' spring chicken deluxe at PGS and there are plenty normal ones out there that you can send to malekko to get dwell modded.

I've got one. The "infinite hold" is kinda like the Freeze pedal. It's not oscillation really. It's like a it does a 125ms sample and loops it.

For the ultimate in controllable, oscillating reverb (plus lots of really out-there modular synth-influenced functions), you could go with the Ekdahl Moisturizer spring reverb? :p
It's pretty :omg: ,but I have no clue how much they cost...I think Big City Music carries them, though.

Spring Chicken isn't in stock. Do you mean the chicklet isn't "controllable", sans expression jack?

that one on ebay is hilariously overpriced, PGS get a new batch fairly regularly from what i've seen. and no the chicklet doesn't have the exp input unfortunately and so the oscillation on it isn't as cool as on the chicken where you can swell the oscillation in and out.

i was about to message him and ask him if the enclosure was gold. The knob is missing and for guys like that, when they buy things, that's at least 50 dollars off.

Wow, I want that. But unsurprisingly, it ain't cheap ($430) so I don't see it happening anytime soon.

anyone else know of any really cool reverbs out there?
I've never heard of this ekdahl thing before now, i don't know how conducive it is to guitar, seems like its more of a synth deal. but im only basing that off of 2 minutes of guitar clips with it.
