So does the "normal" switch sound like a regular US big muff? Or is it a new circuit entirely?
Has any one played a Bi Yang fuzz? It has a muff switch on it and I think might improve on the US Big Muff in that it has a less saggy, tighter low end.

the switch goes like this:
Dry--all the way down, dry signal mixed with fuzz.
Normal--in the middle, basic US Big MUff.
Bass Boost--all the way up, bass boost, becomes more prominant with the tone control pushing the treble side and sustain up high. this mode sounds the best really pushes the muff into a live mix. more than likely like the Bi-Yang.

I started trying to kill it before it came out, but I was advised not to release it, yet. Next year sometime, you will all seee, YOU'LL SEE!
PS, I can't hear SHIT in that demo. But if you say it has a "us big muff" tone in it, I'm excited to try it IRL.

How's the EHX with quality control today?I dig their sounds/designs,but I hate the fact that every single of their pedals that I've purchased had problems with either the construction,or the guts or the pots...and I've always ended up selling it,and those were always purchased in Europe...hmmm...Germany...My friend got one in the US,based on my advice (Little Big Muff) and it's working just fine.Maybe it's just bad luck, but i doubt it.

i too, have been lookin for a fuzz to replace the muff for a main fuzz sound. but, in my opinion, just an opinion, you really can't kill the big muff. it is a time-tested warrior that has stood strong through the years, and alot of the latest incarnations seem to build off the original in a positive way(minus the double muff, but that is an opinion too). the most influencial pedal in my style, and probably for alot of us here also. it is like a gateway fuzz too harder stuff, metaphorically speaking. i did run the Hyperion infront of the bass muff yesterday and i must say with both pedals engaged this is fuzz heaven. not one or the other, tag-team, or double down.
as for quality control, the XO series seems pretty reliable. i've used the new #1 echo, clone theory, holy stain, and bass muff recently, and i would gig any scum bar with any of those pedals without backup.

I liked the Holy stain fuzz but it was way too noisy for me when I wasn't playing. Usually that stuff doesn't bother me, but it did with that fuzz for some reason. None the less I recorded with it once and it sound really 'brootal'.
