I'm digging in my "gear closet" this afternoon in the search for some missing crates of vinyl. Guess what I find instead?...a minty '57 Fender P12R that I totally forgot I had.
I've been collecting vinyl for about a hundred years...Lately I have been mostly buying reissue box sets, replacing old and often worn out faves (like the Smiths singles box set, Yardbirds Shapes Of things box) but anything that I want to listen to I try to get on vinyl. However, most of the time I am actually listening to digital media (mp3, burnt cd's) because of the convenience
I guess I sort of collect, a lot of the music I like is being put out on vinyl. Usually if I buy a record though its because its on like a cool color or in some cases I really like the artwork (I got In the Aeroplane Over the Sea on vinyl just to get a big picture basically even though I had it digitally.) In fact, one of my top "wish list" records is mostly to get a big version of the cover art too
I walked into a place near my house called Replay Records and instantly decided i had to start buying them again.... now i'm on the hunt for a good system and not some crappy plastic sony junk.....
what do you guys use to listen to your LP's.....?

I have a modest vinyl collection. A handful of black metal stuff, some old '70s prog, some stoner, weird thrash, a veritable Agalloch discography. Maybe 30 records?
I just went and looked at it, the 7" portion has Hatebeak next to Debbie Gibson. Don't ask, I don't know either.
i have a massive dj set up with 3 technics mk2's, a vestex, a pioneer cdj 200o, pioneers 600 8 channels mixer, w/ spx 90, roland space echo, and a filter factory in the fx loop, a sams amp thru one channel so can play bass/guitar along with my mixing, a groovebox 505 thru another channel. powered by a crown amp, klarke technik eq thru' hafler trans nova speakers and sub.
prob a couple 1000 records still, i've recently gotten rid a lot of hip hop crap. i'm mostly into breakbeat, german tech and drum and bass. tech house a bit as well. then again i dig these labels: kopakt, good looking, perfecto, finger lickin'.
