Circuit Troubleshooting Help

Post by diwanna »

I recently bought a BYOC chorus kit that I'm having heaps of trouble with. I'm not getting too much help on their forum so I thought I'd try here. I can't seem to get the LFO to work, but then again I don't really know what I'm looking for. I've checked and resoldered all the joints a zillion times, replaced all the ICs to no avail. Here's a pic of the circuit and a 2nd pic of my trace of the circuit. With an audio tester, the green line gets an audio signal and all of the red does not. I'm new to this hobby and although I have a DMM, I'm not really sure how to use it to test ICs and Transistors and such. Any advice would be great.

Schematics totally boggle my mind.

But, I will list a few things that have tripped me up in the past-

Ground wire touching something wrong,
Parts in backwards,
resistor wrong by 1000%

Sorry I oculdnt help more :(

Hot Damn AEN, you did it again!!!! After looking at my circuit board 8.3 quadrillion times, I took your advice and double checked the resistor values. I had a 47k in the 470k spot. Off by 1000% just like you said. Damn you're good. :yay:

hahahahahaha, i totally didnt think that would be it, but I just had to pick apart 15 insulated Great DEstroyer boards to check their resistors. 4 of them were off by 1000%

I thought I was the only one who had to double and triple check resistor values.

I also get into trouble shooting loops, the more I look the less I see.
