I just got done jamming with the Algal Bloom. Man, I knew I liked this pedal from the start, but it's really proving it's long term value with me now.
I was switching between my 3 fuzzes:
MJM Brit Bender (Tone Bender MKII clone)
MJM London II (silicon fuzz face clone)
Fuzzhugger(fx) Algal Bloom
I really feel like the AB sits right in between both the London and Brit Bender. It can do quite a bit of each...and the controls are easy to dial in. Plus it can go further...as in raunchy lower gain overdrive or also higher gain Muff-like distortion. I really see the Algal Bloom as the sum of 4 pedals. 1/4 Fuzz Face; 1/4 Tonebender; 1/4 Big Muff; 1/4 Overdrive.

The Algal Bloom has been a mainstay on my board since I got it! It's my perfect fuzz, it just has "that sound" that I've wanted. It's definitely not going anywhere, I can't think of anything I would possibly enjoy more. The chord clarity is my favorite thing about it

Got mine today. As SOON as I plugged it in, I was in love.
Tele>AB>Twin=Heaven.
Man, I'm excited. Now to put it in line with all my fuzzes and play with it.

Re: the Algal Bloom!
Thanks everyone!!!
The Algal Bloom is MY main/go-to fuzz, actually. The thickness/mass, chord-clarity, and pretty/overdrivey tones were my three goals!

I have, on multiple occasions, heavily considered buying another AB just so I can have it on my main board AND my small board. srsly.
