what kind of HB is that in your bass? Sounds awesome :thumb:
I don't usually like heavy fuzz on bass as much, but that tone starting at 1:10 was amazing
Wasn't as crazy about the second footswitch mode that started around the 5:00 mark..a little too 'pinched off' sounding because of the gating.

It's a Dimarzio Model One. I seriously love that thing. I've got the coil tap installed too - the sounds you heard were on the "lower volume, less bass" setting. :thumb:

Yeah, chaos oscillation can be a difficult beast on the bass frequencies, not too mention the camera mic robbing it of most of the nuance I could here through the amp. Some cool things can come of it through experimentation though!

You mean you have it in parallel or you have one of the coils off? Tapping is something else then that and very few pickups come with that option anymore and I would think it would be very hard to do on a pickup encased in epoxy.

MothaFUUUUCCCKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH.

I just JUST made up my mind the other day that I already have a Shoegazer and an AB-Synth, so I don't really want a War Horse (even though I was FER SHER going to get one when they came out...).

Now I must have one.

*EDIT*: Hmmmmm. I'm not so sure. It doesn't seem like it offers enough.

 or :thumb: ?

Most likely both.

I'm not sure how I feel about being "moe desu bass chan." She was indeed born in Japan however...

It might be cute, but it will tear your balls off.

So how does that differ from the regular Soda Meiser or Cherry Pop? Would you call the Pregain knob the "Fuzz" knob? It's level, starve, tone, and pregain, right? What are the advantages and how does it shape things differently than the Soda Meiser?

i assume pregain is like the volume pot on your bass/guitar, which would make it the same as the regular SM, minus tone and starve

Ah they are using the wrong term, tapping is one of the more misused terms out there...

Yeah that is how I have mine wired as well..

Coil tapping is suppose to be were on a single coil there is a tap wire somewhere in the middle of the wind so you can actually shut off part of the coil.

Incidentally, my $0.02 here...my guitar has a series/parallel switch on the bridge pickup only..allows for some really cool almost "DI" sounds, especially in the middle position.
Makes my tele thinline sound more like a solidbody tele, that really spanky, almost 'compressed' sound. (although to be honest i'm not exactly sure what is happening, circuitry-wise, when i switch from series to parallel and from parallel to series and combine pickups in those settings)

There is a lot of info out there on how that works.

I have a franken' bass I did with two bart humbuckers and each has a 3way switch so I can get 3 different series settings and two parallel, 4 series + one single coil and two single coil settings. That bass is a lot of fun.
