seems like that would be well-represented in New Orleans, especially now that Dixieland jazz is pretty much a dead form.

“dead form”: a type or genre of music that’s been so played-out that it’s no longer possible to do anything new without traducing the boundaries of the genre. examples: bluegrass, Dixieland, “cool jazz,” surf, hardcore.
