Old Ass Show Review From Stoner Rock Dot Com

Post by Phosphene Audio »

I was going to put this in the Doom sub forum, but it appears to be pretty dead.

A guy I know who was in Vincebus Eruptum posted a link on FB to one of their songs (yes, the song in question was Who Farted), and I was reminded of the show we played with them and Khanate back in 2003. There was a funny review of the show on the no longer extant Stoner Rock forum. For some reason, back in the day, I actually saved the webpage.

It's pretty funny review. The guy hated VE, who I thought were great. We were seen positively, but with a really weird description right out of the gate.

This is how I realised the stoner rock forums were gone. Great times. Still haven't 'got' Khanate live though I do like them on record.
good deals are here.

That's amazing

From the local gigs I've done recently I can't recall reading a review that wasn't weird. Guess it's part of the deal, I don't hate it.

I miss live show reviews. It used to be how I decided to see bands I'd never heard "back in the day" lol.

SASSY used to be a monthly magazine for teenage/20-something young women, and one of their regular features was the "Cute Band Alert" column. So that review comment was tongue in cheek, because Microwaves are not actually cute.

Khanate released a new reunion album in January and they are playing a few US shows in June. There may be other shows (?) or they may have played some shows already? I haven't heard the album yet but it's an hour long, and it's three tracks.
