...sure, it's real hard to choose. You did great...but, as you know, you could do a whole 'nother comp and never repeat.

I have 630 Zappa songs on my iTunes!

I just noticed I don't have YCDTOSA 2!

How's about that father/son solo on YCDTOSA3 (Sharleena)! My God...

This is the first full Zappa song I've really listened to besides what I've seen on those "100 greatest lists" on TV. I also took the liberty of checking out the "King Kong" video as well. I was attracted to the lyrics of Carolina hardcore ecstasy but I was more attracted to KING KONG's music, which distinctively reminded me of The Doors. Although I can appreciate that Zappa is creating music regardless of what was going on around him, its difficult for me to get into it.

The one thing I didn't like was that there were two drummers in King Kong, it sounded messy to me, which is weird cause I love Keith Moon. I'd like to hear stripped down performances of his music...with maybe drums and three other instruments. Or a Ska/punk cover. :omg:

Art Tripp should be a mandatory addition to any drummer imo.

If that's the case, then Vinnie Coliouta needs to be the advanced class.

Any fan of the concrete music style has to love Lumpy Gravy. Zappa was so revolutionary.

Zappa totally blew my mind!
He is a constant in my life, both as a musician and as a philosophical guiding light!
I'm so happy you ( Low Woods) want to initiate people to his music!
My favourite periods are from Freak Out to Hot Rats/Live in L.A. and the late contemporay music/Synclavier music.
ZAPPA RULES!

Shit, people, get the "Classic Albums" Dvd on Apostrophe, Overnite Sensation. Halfway thru Joe Travers is going thru the Vault and pulls out a reel, just like nothing, and says...

"Oh, and here are the original masters from TROUT MASK REPLICA"!!!!

OMFG!!!!
