i'm not really a fan of bit-crushing in general, but somehow the Bitters sounds more musical than most such attempts. the fact that it does surprisingly decent phaser, chorus, and particularly the ring mod makes it a startling candidate for the all-purpose modulation device on my upcoming normie board.

I have the original Alesis Bitrman and have used it a lot in the past. It doesn't strike me as an effect that guitar players would like... actually, I'm not sure who it was intended for. I'd guess that this pedal version will be similar to the desktop units but modified for more usability. The desktop unit can get wacky or unusable pretty quickly IMO. I guess that's why they added a Mix knob? One big difference is that the original units are stereo in/out. The original units are cool but not worth paying high prices for, IMO. (Isn't that true of most pedals though...?) I'll be curious to see what reviews say.

I'm interested in that Phantom Limb on the previous page!

Wonder if it features the authentic Bitrman carrier bleed.

i find the way that Moog page is configured to scroll horizontally with the thumbwheel incredibly disorienting.

Here's a few July releases I never got around to posting...
While the Florist starts with the core idea of the Slow Loris, it is something else entirely and is not a revision or modification of the original. For instance, the delay range on the Florist is way faster than the original. We also redesigned the signal path for higher fidelity, and use a compressor type detector circuit for controlling the delay speed. We add a second delay channel using its own different detector to try to achieve some through-zero flanging and tri-chorus sounds.

the WEE-BIRD is a lush experimental multi mode REVERB with a GERMANIUM gain stage. It can sound warm and lofi, pretty and huge, and it can also scream like you never thought a reverb could

the wee-bird is a workhorse utility reverb pedal for non traditional reverb sounds.

the WEE-BIRD was meant to be used as an intuitive exploration device. no menus, no presets...

The second iteration of MIME refines both of the original algorithms and adds a third, chirpy, quacky spring reverb to go along with it. The AI generated section has been greatly altered, essentially seeing man reclaim from the machine, what was previously his, I suppose.

Poly Effects is unveiling a new pedal at an event in Brisbane this weekend. It looks like it's called Ample, and it's a standalone version of the NAM Amp module from Beebo. I'm not super crazy about Poly cannibalizing their Beebo concepts Eventide style, but I guess it makes sense--Verbs can have longer reverb captures than Beebo, and if you use the NAM module in Beebo it pretty much eats up all of the CPU.

It does make me wonder if Beebo will ever get another firmware update. Even though I've used my Beebo a lot, the whole experience has felt like an extremely long beta test, and there are still some things that don't really work. I was excited by the possibilities of the EDP-style looper module, but it's so buggy and full of clicks that I find it unusable. And the idea that it would someday also be a sampler seems to have gone by the wayside. Whenever I get frustrated by these things I have to remind myself of the million things that work fine and which I use all the time.

That caught my eye, too. I’d have to play one in person with something approximating my use case to make sure I’m not just in love with the idea of it. And I’d wonder about rolling my own something that’s proximate to less. (Stuff a Charlie pickup in the neck of a Casino?)
