I really think mystic/shamanic stuff is like jazz.. more than likely you are going to need a teacher or you will end up playing bad fusion which is more than likely less of a musical form than noise art...dubkitty wrote:just because i don't believe that most weird spiritual shit isn't real doesn't mean it still can't be dangerous to buy into. not everyone is cut out to be a mystic.
Pretty much. I’ll have an idea for a music project. If I don’t have the gear for it, I research what I’d need. Then I try to imagine what it would actually be like to use that gear. What kind of results I might get, and see how other people are using it. I imagine how satisfying it is going to be to use. What quirks are going to irritate me. Think about how this gear is going to change my songwriting. How it’s going to make my life easier. How it’s going to improve my sound. By the time I’ve started saving money for this, I’ve already fully imagined how it would be to use the gear and how it looks next to the gear I already own. I might even pull out a tape measure to make it easier to imagine how it would look in the room.friendship wrote:I think what 01010111 is suggesting though is that sometimes it's fun to imagine chain of instrument, effects, and amplification and that doesn't mean you need to like buy all that shit. you can just manifest it in the dojo of your casino.
