phones and tablets on a pedalboard
Hey all,
I have 2 old iphone 4s, an old iphone 6s, and an old ipad air. All were hand me downs whose battery life expired long ago and I tend to use them for music/noise apps (trying to make lemonade out of old lemons). Instead of having them and their charging wires all over the place I wanted to find a dektop holder that I can mount to an old IKEA shelf that will act as a desktop pedalboard.
As of late the closest I have been able to find that fits the bill is this:
http://www.amazon.com/AGVEE-Adjustable- ... 0cnVl&th=1
I like that the holder can fold up when done but the holes are huge and I'm guessing I will need to either strap it down with screws or used some oversized washers along with velcro to keep the phones/ipad in place.
Anyone know of an alternative or have suggestions?

That was my first thought but I want something angled. I don't want to hunch over anything and screw with my back.coupleonapkins wrote:Velcro?

get a bunch of cheap cases and attach those to a couple of strips of steel or like plexiglass and attach that to that folding stand (or two of them would be better or one for a bigger tablet). Rivets and construction adhesive or velcro to the cases to hold the phones..
or something like this that is a little bigger with plywood on top https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Silic ... 08G84P8ZX/
velcro something like this under: https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Charging ... 09KN8M5BK/ to make it clean.

Granted this would need to be modded, but I like the concept, especially if hunching over is taken out of the equation.

Or you could get condom style cases and just staple them to some woodlordgalvar wrote:get a bunch of cheap cases and attach those to a couple of strips of steel or like plexiglass and attach that to that folding stand (or two of them would be better or one for a bigger tablet). UC had an ipad set up as part of a tabletop board a million years ago - I think it was just using a generic case though?

I have a collection of 2 iphone 4's and a 6s, all old. one has a broken screen, and they have just music software on them, which I use to sketch ideas. I've recently (thanks to negativland) started building on the setup to include a couple of desktop synths, shortwave radios, police scanner, modified cassette player and its more of situation where I don't have the room to keep everything wired up on my table for an extended period of time so I'd rather mount things to a board that I can tuck away and just hook up to power when I need it.D.o.S. wrote:UC had an ipad set up as part of a tabletop board a million years ago - I think it was just using a generic case though?

Re: phones and tablets on a pedalboard
post some clips of this setup it sounds cool. one of those cheap small mixers and a couple of distortions would probably allow this setup to rule
