Almost flange-like?

Listening to the previous demos & now Ian's preview, I'd say the Seabee is the closest one can get to a Starlight DLX. The Bee has a warmer, duller character. The Starlight DLX is sharper and more metallic.

very impressed with the Seabee - takes some doing, given my kneejerk distaste for chorus

also, i seem to be in the minority in liking the metallic frost of the Starlight DLX (including the progenitor)

For all it does, I wouldn't've minded the thinness of the Starlight DLX if it'd been at least a little capable of gettin' warmer/darker/fatter.

(I probably wouldn't've taken advantage of all that functionality either. )

A few months ago I finally had a listen to some through zero flanging sounds that "everybody" talked about. I just hadn't imagined that it produced a complete gap of silence. I disliked it on the spot.

i think it's the type of effect that can work nicely on an entire mix, but usually sounds really out-of-place (if not downright awful) just slapped on a guitar solo or whatever

not big on subtractive flanging either tbh... it's like listening to someone trying to suck tapioca pearls through a straw that's slightly too narrow.
