Re: The All Nude New Gear Announcements 2023'd
So Universal Audio has decided they need to reduce prices and streamline some of their pedals. Today, they dropped 3 new offerings for $349 (previously their pedals were $399). The new products lack onboard presets, but they still offer an app for advanced customization.
If you're a non-MIDI person, you may be thrilled to see the Starlight & Golden Reverberator in one enclosure (Del-Verb). So instead of $800, it's $350 (if you are good with sacrificing surface control like tap-tempo).
They also dropped a dual compressor and a Space Echo workalike (Galaxy). I would imagine this 2nd delay is quite similar to their Galaxy plugin, which has been available for years.
Jumping around the different demos on YT, there's a lot of bonus algos. I've heard Thermae-esque stuff for the Del-Verb and a lot more. Personally, I find these to be a mixed bag. I like the sounds, but I don't love the interface. I'd strongly prefer a plugin or a more expensive pedal with expanded surface control.

So you can buy a limited edition, fake reissue of a non-existant 1970s EHX pedal from JHS for $350 (cooler retro enclosure + large components), or you can drop $99 on a standard EHX version (SMD). Have we hit peak flipper culture, or do we have to see one of these 1,000 units sell for $4,400 on Reverb.com first?

So....on the heels of Bad Monkey-gate, are you going to pay $250 extra to have a pedal that doesn't have "JHS" on the box?

Walrus' $129.00 Fundamental verb gets some competition, in the form of the Matthews' Traveler. It's $129.99 with MIDI capabilities.

Nice 2 cash in on all the weary ex-Fulltone headz out there, who've just been waiting for a Doors-inspired dirty Octave TS-boost to sweep them up (only one door left 2 open...echorec wrote:{LIZARD PIC} Have we hit peak flipper culture..on the heels of Bad Monkey-gate...

Big Liz box is solt out, but I hope JayAcheYves sells enuff crappy t-shirts to force EHX to make this a standard thing, just because I'd rather have a big box Frequency Analyzer (with the ultra-hot PSU) available again, even if it's mostly for thee Kewl Aid drinkers (don't dribble).
And we all know that the Bad Monkey shenanigans were really a JershSchlott/Reverb.com handshake ploy, rite? Basically all publicity is good publicity (und t-shirts!) 4 yinzers.
Wipe me up, doc!

Good morning!

People were already able to trace the circuit of the Lizeard Queen, and it's nothing special nor revolutionary. JHS recycled 2 very well known fuzz circuits from late 90s/early 2000s DIY scene: Tim Escobedo's Pullme-Pushyou and the Runoffgroove Bass Fuzz. Schem is available on freestompboxes.

For about $3, you could have the coolest Queen around and stay in the color scheme.D.o.S. wrote:Said yes on reflex but then I remembered that $250 buys you a lot of masking tapeechorec wrote: So....on the heels of Bad Monkey-gate, are you going to pay $250 extra to have a pedal that doesn't have "JHS" on the box?![]()

In a way spiritually coming back full circle to ripping off other people’s original ideas and overcharging for it.

This is genuinely exciting- Endorphines dabbling in the pedal world. I don’t get the hype with Andrew huang or why he’s involved but that compressor looks pretty awesome in a pedal format. Also looks like it will be big moneys.
