Rubber stamping pedals

What type of ink do you guys use? And do you just get your stamps from the hobby store?

Is it worth sealing?

i use staz-on ink - it works really well and is quite difficult to get off.
some stamps are from a store, some were custom made via an online site, can't remember the name, though... there's a few really cheap places out there though.
in my experience, sealing isn't 100% necessary, but if you want the gloss and added protection then go for it. wait a bit (15 min or so) for the ink to dry or it will run - which can be nice, too...

StazOn for me, too.

I've discovered that once the ink is really, really dry (like more than 24 hours), it can be rubbed off with some skin friction. It turns into something almost like super-thin rubber or whatever. This is *great* if you goof up a stamp on a really nice paint job. You can just wait a day and start over.

But I would recommend a very light clear coat (a mere dusting) to keep it protected. It's unlikely to get rubbed off with no clear, but I generally feel safer wit it on there.

For stuff I make for me, I usually don't clear over the ink. If it's something I think I might sell, I dust it. :thumb:

Right now I'm in the process of designing Orange-Like symbols to use on stompboxes. Should look cool when I'm done & I don't have to use those stick on label writers anymore (when I'm lazy). :)
