Years late to the party, but finally bought a H9.

Post by rfurtkamp »

Been wanting one forever, and the used prices have tanked with the new "two at a time" H9 sequel due out soon.

Limited as hell in terms of "one a time", but I cannot complain about the sound quality or the number of options.

Scored a Max for half what it was a couple weeks ago, and can't say no!

Some of the algorithms will do (a fairly conventional go of) multiple effects at once, like the Space Time and the Tricerachorus. Fine, good for the tan pants crowd (and the later maybe if interest to Robin Guthrie fans). But I think the real stuff of worth in these pedals are the deeper legacy-based algorithms where a bunch of effects processing techniques are building the “one effect”’s sound. Undulator, Ultratap, Blackhole, and MicroPitch are each remarkably flexible in what they can do. Blackhole can do non-reverb things, MicroPitch isn’t a bad dual delay without leaning into the pitch shifting, though you can also do Rainbow Machine stuff.

Yeah, prices on all the older pedals seem to be falling and the available volume is way up. “Make an Offer” may be your friend as sellers become nervous about covering their credit card bills.

Yep. I've only started playing with it - first day I had it I couldn't use the editor because previous idiot didn't release it before shipping. I mostly screwed with presets initially because of that, and couldn't wait to get rid of the stupid Bluetooth address: "Captain Trips."

I wanted the harmonizer and wacko verb stuff mostly - for traditional verbs, I have my Lexicon reckmounts!

Nothing like cocteau twins and a pair of khakis
imagine finding out your son is your daughter & she's into noise music
