Looking for a plug or similar small device I can solder onto the leads from a pickup and other leads from the pots of an electric guitar. This would make swapping pickups quick and without the need to desolder/resolder wires each time.
Most threads I've dug up about this focus on "solderless" systems which aren't really what I'm looking for and have terrible reviews. I've found EMG pickups have a proprietary system for this and it looks like the GFS Kwikplug Pigtail can do this as well. Has anyone used this or another solution?
Interested in any knowledge. I'm concerned about signal loss/degradation too.
Thanks!

Re: Pickup Plug System
Molex connector? It would basically give you the same option as an EMG, but you would still have to solder each pickup
I dug deep into EMG's lately (thanks to the Jim Root Jazzmaster, as in why come, Fender? Also, it's apparently their best-selling signature model, which is why they're on V4/5), and they aren't necessarily as bad as you'd imagine. Yes, their popular purpose is high-output buckers, but their system is still the easiest for swapping n' switching, and their variety is wider than 10 years previous.
I was a fan of the old Dan Armstrong slide & screw pickups, but I suppose most guitarists were not as interested in swappability as they were in Les Pauls or Strats, which is understandable, but also super lame.

Re: Pickup Plug System
Molex is a great idea, hadn't thought of it. Thank you! I don't mind initially soldering them, I want to be able to swap on the road quickly when I won't have access to soldering station.
Jim Root signature's success is pretty surprising yeah. I want to be able to do it with non-EMG pickups. Hadn't heard of Dan Armstrong either, that system looks dope. Totally could have caught on. Ah well.
