Dedicated self-oscillation pedal?

Post by niftyprose »

Hello guys, I think I'm suffering memory loss. (Ironic under the circs but there it is.)

Recently someone released a dedicated self-oscillating delay: you stood on it and it released a massive squall of echo that built at a rate set by the control. I think it might have been a one-knob box. I just came up with a context for it. Can anyone tell me what I'm thinking of?

Best, NP.

Zero input or was it a delay that went into heavy regeneration of the input when activated?

The ILFDD and the Rubberneck have momentary switches that you can hold for the later sort of effect. Neither is too polite about it, compared to some digital pedals that have limits to the regeneration so as not to soil any tan pants.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some noise synth pedal used a PT2399 chip for delay oscillation, but that stuff is almost entirely outside my knowledge base.

The latter; "a delay that went into..." The annoying thing is, it was released this year and it was from a well-known maker. Unfortunately, we're so over-provided with f/x that it's hard to remember from one week to the next. Or it might just be that my braiin is disintegrating. Oh my.
