nice! program and pattern randomizers are awesome additions. could totally chuck it on a pedalboard for instant bleep bloops.Gone Fission wrote:Korg is doing the Volca FM 2. Now 6 voices, some more memory slots, some other changes: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fD4rNmhdFWI
Still affordable—seeing preorders for $170.
Why anyone hasn't built a Roland PG-300 type controller to physically open up all these tiny FM synths is just astounding to me at this point (even similar Peavey controllers go for around $300 in terrible condition). If Korg were to offer such device the Volca FM2 would be so much more appealing, even if it listed for more than the actual unit itself! I'm still looking through all the vids that dropped, so I'm not sure if they can be polychained or not (will probably have to wait for someone overseas to buy two and see 1st hand because......Volcas).backwardsvoyager wrote:nice! program and pattern randomizers are awesome additions. could totally chuck it on a pedalboard for instant bleep bloops.Gone Fission wrote:Korg is doing the Volca FM 2. Seems ideal, and most of the demo vids mention Dexed (a plugin with it's own DX7 engine) and Synthmata (a web controller), but the tactility of hardware is always more enticing, always always always.Gone Fission wrote:Worth checking the MIDI implementation to see if you could do an app programmer in MIDI Designer or some such? I wonder if they give enough access, including SYSEX stuff.
