Rock critics that panned this album are the equivalent of cavemen who do not speak English being asked to review Shakespeare.
Hydra wasn't produced to satisfy the adolescent search for hormonal thrills.
Hydra by Toto is ART. ART is seldom appreciated straightaway by those who are not themselves artists.
In retrospect, Hydra is a brilliant album, reflecting the cohesion of the band, and the best part is that it propelled them to continue to pursue creative veins most rock bands would have abandoned in favor of something cheaper and easier.

You know.. it hit me the other day that no matter what it was dressed up as I think I’ve been mostly playing some form of prog most of my life and I’m not sure how I am suppose to feel about that….
