Hope you have backup tubes.

Post by rfurtkamp »

You're going to be fucked if you don't have backup tubes at this point - they're drying up FAST.

China production has been shot since last year, and the sole source left is JJ and they're already backordered 6+ months.

I post the EHX announcement because the last time I did a heads-up (which was dead on) about the discontinued RE-20...I got stupids.

Heh. I've never quite understood EHX's marketing game, but..I have bought a ton of their tubes over the years.

The currentish Tung-Sols may be the best tube I've used out of the golden era RCA and Telefunkens that are now priced out of my range and the stashes I had of the latter are down to ..one.

Ah very interesting thanks for the heads up! Glad I've got two solid states I like but I may well get a few spare tubes just in case...

I retubed the two amps I use the most last fall and I bought a backup set for my main amp a couple of weeks ago. I also have a Quilter head, which is perfectly fine itself.

don't listen, rfurtkamp is creating artificial scarcity to cash in on his NOS stash before NASA's vacuum-channel transistor destroys the niche tube industry.

Just remember, it's only a matter of time til the backup tubes and the backup backup tubes all run out and only those of us smart enough to have filled our bunkers with Peavey Bandits will be left :idk:

And rely on a stable source of AC power after the collapse of infrastructure? No way. I'll stick with nature's vacuum tube: that's right folks I'm talking about the resonant space of your old-fashioned acoustic guitar.

I guess now's as good a time as any to see if my ninja can defeat furtkamp's defenses and get at his stash. :idk: :success:
