I can't really knock that he's selling for the going price, but I can lament the fact that the going price is almost twice what Land Device sells 'em for.

The only reason he would mention the construction and post gut shots is as an attempt to hurt a competitor. Poor form.

True, but I doubt most people buyin' a Land Devices HP-2 would've ever heard the name "Chuck Collins".

It's possible. Perhaps for people that are relatively new to buying effects pedals. Chuck Collins was the only source for a percolator pedal for a long time. The other early takes on it like the one from Barge Concepts were substantial departures from the original design.

The texture look is basically canvas being used to apply ink lightly as a top coat. The blue one has actual texture to the undercoat of paint, plus the back ink.
