I grew Bhut Jolokia a couple of years ago. Those were considered the hottest in the world at the time. Of course, it all depends on growing conditions.
I grew Fatalii before, too, and that was my favorite. It was kind of citrusy. The Bhut was more bitter.

Yeah, I grew the Ghost peppers last year and will again this year if we get them. They definitely have a bitter taste compared a habanero for instance which is real fruity. The Carolina Reaper is a crossbred ghost/habanero.

And yeah growing conditions definitely matter. I didn't think the ghosts were too crazy hot like I was expecting. The hottest pepper I ever had was a chocolate scotch bonnet. That was brutal. But delicious.

Loves me this ghost pepper salsa by the way.
