Belle & Sebastian

Post by Wizard »

It's so rare that i can think of an artist thats consistently put out incredible records since they've been a band, i literally think there's 3 songs in their entire catalogue i dislike.

Stuart Murdoch = best song writer in the past 15 years.

I can stick by that.

Huge B&S fan. Never thought they would pop up around here, lol, but, yeah, I absolutely love ALL of their albums (though I probably dig the older stuff a little more than the newer, but still, the life pursuit was a solid album) I haven't checked out Stuart's new God Help the Girl project or whatever it's called, but I'm expecting it to be pretty awesome.

Funny thing, when I first listened to B&S it was the push barman to open old wounds album, and I thought their sound was pretty cool, but their lyrics drove me insane because I didn't get them. They didn't seem cryptic at all, they were just talking about ordinary things in ordinary language, but they still made no sense to me and it drove me crazy. Now I love it. I stopped trying to figure out what they were saying and just got into the music. I love the lyrics now too, stuart really has a way with words, even though I often still have no idea what he's talking about. I like it. A lot.

Ha! I always skip "Seymour Stein" and go straight to this:

My buddy bought us tickets for Treasure Island Music Fest which means I GET TO SEE B&S LIVE IN 2 MONTHS!

Love Belle & Sebastian. They where the soundtrack to a few road trips.

They owned Coachella in 2002

They'll be in DC October 14 while I'll be in Scotland. Oh the irony.

SO... the new record leaked.

i like it, but i'm not blown away instantly. i'm about to spend the entire week listening to it on repeat while i rebuild this bathroom.

it's a shame it didn't blow me away right away, because i popped on the new vaselines record afterwards... and i'm so into it.

I love Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John mainly because Norah Jones is in it, and she is
