At the beginning of the pandemic, Ryan from 60 Cycle Hum straight up said his payment for a demo is $500, but he's in advertising by day, so I suppose he has a personal precedent. It's also clear who his target audience is (TGP&W Facebook Dads who love their Sweetwater sales rep), so that's why companies constantly send him to seminars & blind amounts of pre-release gear for the hype train - that's a big pool of spenders. Just don't tell their wives!

He’s not with reverb anymore? I like him as a person but his demos are never anywhere close to what I’m interested in, often pedal-wise and also playing wise so I always skip over them. But I support his desire to demo pedals and make a living, I’m not here to hate on anyone.

For me Janek Gwizdala has made some pretty good bass specific gear videos. I seem to really like his videos whereas other bass specific videos such as “The Bass Channel” I avoid - I can’t tell you why. I just don’t like it.

Personally I really enjoyed the interplay/personalities of Pedals And Effects. I hope Juan is doing well in his recovery. They had a good thing going and it’s really difficult to work in that format of going back and forth with that much chemistry. I found that “That Pedal Show” which is a blatant copy does not have the same personalities happening. I started watching one on the FM4 and it seemed like they were just figuring it out as they went along. Like motherfucker I do not have 45 minutes for this!! Whereas I’m willing to watch a whole hour on P&E on a pedal I will never buy.....

GearManDude paved the way for Living Room Gear Demo dude, though both are (coincidentally!) coily cable dudes doing the exact same thing and both could probably be spending their time helping the universe instead of poisoning (poissoning? from a temporal standpoint) the void with useless, humorless demos (GearManDude gets a pass for shouting into the camera before anyone knew they wanted that, excessive bootery and/or Kung Fu Panda 2, however).

But neither of them are as good as this demo, which remains, as a raptor once said: unimpeachable:

wait...was this a probability distribution joke? If so....damn, that is the most academic joke slipped into an internet rant I've ever seen, and I dig it.
