Hey!

What's with Canadians saying "Hey" like it's punctuation?

I think it basically has to do with the fact that the Canadian accent is so weird and unusual that you can't tell if a Canuck is telling you something or asking you something... so when a hoser puts eh or hey on the end of a sentence it clears it right up. We also use it to force people to agree with what we're saying in a non-physical way. (When we say eh or hey imagine us shaking our fist at you cause that's how we do it.)

Eh vs Hey.... we say 'em both! My grampa said 'hey' so I do too. Plus it sounds more intelligent since it has an extra letter in it.

It's like how Brits say 'innit' after everything! Like, this guitar pedal is shit innit!

People from northern California say "hella."

As in, "Dude that's hella sick."

A much worse trend I noticed during my time in CA was people wanting to say "hella", but not wanting to say "hell", so they end up saying "hecka".

I have almost struck down someone bagging my groceries for saying "hecka" seven different times.
