Roland GR20 and other synth pedals

Post by tremolo3 »

Any experience with these or the other Boss/Roland stuff?

Main goal is to control my Nord Modular with my guitar, and only thing I need is the GK3 pickup, but for the price of it, I can also get the GR20 for free lol

So how terrible do the oscillators and filter sound? Any decent sounding demo out there? Mainly interested on strings and drones.

And here, just because Johnny fucking DeMarco!

Wouldn't you need the GR-20 to convert the GK3 signal to MIDI to send to the Nord Modular, anyway? Roland synth pickups don't output MIDI.

Fishman TriplePlay + USB MIDI Host, or Roland GK3 + GI-20 would track a lot better, but the GR-20 should work. I used the GR-33 for a while and the tracking was janky but the sounds were surprisingly fun and usable.

Mmmmmm now I'm worried about latency and having a clusterfuck. I totally forgot about the Fishman pickup, will take a look!
Thanks sir.
