The amount of time I spend on Flix and streaming services after work is ridiculous lmao

With that being said, Peanut Butter Falcon was really good... and Jake Roberts is in it, so that was cool

Recently watched:

- Hip Hop Evolution: i saw the 1st series when it came out some years back, then canceled the Netflix subscription so i missed the other ones until now. Really well done for someone like me whose interest in hip hop is more on the historical and cultural side. I still prefer the first series and the part until the mid 90ies as it's what i still listen to.

- Louis CK 2017: he does what he does and he's one of the best out there doing it.

- Snatch: re-watched after a long time, and it's good as new. Those early Guy Richie movies are so damn enjoyable, good dialogues, rhythm, action, and the characters and scenographies throw you directly in those suburbs from the first scene. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is still my favorite though.

- Event Horizon: another re-watch. I'm a sci-fi sucker, even more when it comes to pre-CGI-EVERYTHING era. There's some (bad) CGI there, but here the main spaceship set design, the blood and horror things are real effects and costumes, and Sam Neil is creepy as fuck. Simple and overused story, but with a good tension build-up.

- Ghostbusters I & II: what can i say? me and my gf watch those every year during the holidays and never get tired of them, they're our Christmas movies. :)*

Next in line are Da 5 Bloods and Tenet, will report in the next weeks.

Yup they got to season 4.
Well, there are just 4 episodes per season anyway, so it's not long at all.

Up to season 2 of Sabrina. The first few episodes were slow but now it rules.

Do it.
This is not a show that I would have chosen but my wife is all about some spooky melodramatic goofiness, so I got sucked into it too and I'm glad for it
Now we're on season 4, which apparently is the last...

Also now in the midst of the latest Sabrina season, which has included H.P. Lovecraft references in addition to the usual farcical satanism. What the heaven? Unholy shit.

Finished all 6 Sharknado movies over the past 2 weekends as well, which were perfect background noise during weekly meal prep. Some of the cameos were surprising, though associated one liners became increasingly predictable.

We finally started watching Peaky Blinders after it sat on my list for years. We're absolutely loving it. Basically watched the entire first season in a weekend

Hm, I watched the first episode once and wasn't really into it, though I know plenty of people who say it's fantastic.

Peaky Blinders is one of my favorites, sooo well done, even if the scheme of events is getting a bit repetitive there are a lot of twists. Still it caughts me up like no other (current) show.

I watched Rocketman with my gf yesterday, not knowing it was more a musical than a biopic, so initially I was quite annoyed, but I gotta admit that i enjoyed it nonetheless, probably 'cause my parents listened to Eleton John a lot when I was young, so a lot of those songs are stuck in the back of my mind even if I haven't listened to him in ages.

Finally got to watch it last night.
Such an unique story, fun and brutal at the same time.
Brilliant acting, Delroy Lindo interpretation is extraordinary.
It also seems that the more Spike Lee gets old the more his movies become violent.
The fact that real photos and clips are shown when historic happenings are described is one of the most striking things in it, mostly because they often appear during light/joking dialogues, and the sudden juxtaposition of crude images totally dissociates the viewer from the fictional representation.
I have honestly been disturbed by some of those images, even if I already saw most of them on books or documentaries, because of the context in which they were shown.
Then the overall criticism of Trump-ism and money culture, BLM, racism, etc etc etc there are plenty of levels of analysis and every single character has some personal flaws and problems connected to those.
Probably one of his best movies, surely in my personal Spike Lee top 3.

Uh, the other day I watched Tenet too. Besides the complexity of the plot - which, once you understand the inherent logic, might require a second screening - it may appear visually less impressive than other Nolan movies, but that's just because it is not "grandiloquent" as Interstellar or Inception etc.
The amount of work on most sequences is impressive to say the least, as they flow smoothly and in a credible way despite the fucked up cause-effect relations...OK, I can't comment any further without the risk of spoilering some aspects.
