I love the idea of the circuit, so seeing them continue this line is really cool.

Another terrible line by fender incoming. Just go get a G&L, fender will never actually innovate again or match G&L pick ups and tone controls.

Does the electric guitar really need innovation? After 1964 or so (or whenever the Floyd Rose was invented if you want to do wheedly-wheedly stuff) it seems like a solved problem. Humbuckers, single-coils, body shapes and scale lengths to suit almost everyone.

The 2017-2019 Professional line had some pretty cool changes to their pickup selection that I really dug, just hope that the feature trickles down to the lower Jags. :snax:

Well as analogue instruments, yes its hard to much more other types of materials used in pick ups.

But I dunno maybe theres some things you can do. How about strings that are much closer in wound size so the frequency is concentrated, so like say all the keys next to each other on a piano rather a key from every octave.

I dunno, who knows.

In the future though, you're gonna start seeing much more innovative analogue instruments when some of the scientific techniques trickles down to the masses.

And in the future future when our hearing evolves to a wider frequency spectrum, you'll be seeing some frequency expanded instruments.

The last fender I really REALLY liked is that american pro jaguar especially in that green and with the black plate. OMG. But yeah been unimpressed especially the Jazzmaster's for a long time. Who cares about strats about apart from classic rock dorks and shitty indie rock dorks, but not even of the good subgenres of indie rock. Tele's sound great but I dunno, it feels like Tele's are for girls. I don't know why I have that feeling. Prolly some refractional subconscious thing.

Nah man, the history of music would be so different and dead without jazzmasters and jags. Half the music I love deeply was made on those things. Forget about mustangs, no one cares.

No. The guitars don't matter. Not really. Guitars are just tools, even if all your favorite bands had had strats or even bc riches instead the difference would not be important in the great scheme of things...

You guyz didn’t like the Vintera series, or the pawn shop fantasy series? I don’t know much about them, but they looked interesting to me...

Fender seems to be doing pretty well, in comparison to their market rival Gibson

Fender's doing fine IMO - I don't like pau ferro on vintage-looking guitars but that's my hangup, the Custom Shop relics often look cheesy (and I don't mind relics when they're subtle... or cheap) but I'll never be able to afford one anyway, they reintroduced CuNiFe wide ranges after 40 years, most of the short run things are misses but they still produce all the basics.

Pre-pandemic I tried one of the newer Charvels they're making and they seem like a good shreddy guitar for the money.
