I blame Wizard for the FZ2 craziness, is this what it felt like to try to find a Tube Screamer at a decent price post SRV? I'm a fan of okay priced re-issues and decent clones when it comes to these things hahahaha

Glad your digging it man! It's deff on my list to try a OG if I can

I made this today with some friends and the FZ-2. It's the french O holy night (minuit chrétien). The choir of tortured souls is just me and my GF on the way to being drunk again. We were particularly happy with the late orchestrations.

The big chords are all mode II on the pedal and all the melodies are in boost mode. No equing whatsoever.

After a few hours of playing around I can say for my personal needs this is much more versatile than I ever thought. The boost mode is really fucking nice honestly, really great surprise.

Lol thanks, everyone was really deep into the spirit. :thumb:

If you like the voices the reverb effect is called EpicVerb it's free and oh my god it's good on anything from snares to sound scapes. It has a preset for every room size and situation. Variety of Sound also make an excellent free bus compressor called density Mk3 which I use on almost everything. I love VoS plugins.

Yeah it's definitely a Wizard thing. I don't have high standards for regular distortion but I'm pretty picky about huge sounding fuzz so that's usually where I spend bigger chunks and I don't mind paying more for sought after shit if it means I can get rid of it fast. Honestly the clones are probably just as good.

I think the pedal is way more versatile than just that Dopethrone sound though. Pleasantly surprised about that so I'm keeping it.

It is absolutely this guy's fault.

All he could afford was cheap gear starting out, and now look at what he's done to the price. :whoa: If it wasn't for Jus this pedal would be a $40 curiosity most people wouldn't even take a second look at.

They're totally amazing and totally free. I found this trick on their forum for Density Mk3 :

One instance with the Summing preset, followed by another instance with the "non lin/amp" preset and trim the "non lin/amp" one to taste with the drive knob.

It's like it knows what you worked on in your mix and brings it forward. All the more pleasing frequencies are crisp and full. Try that shit on the master bus of any song and I bet it's going to blow your mind.

An FZ-2 just popped up on my Instagram used a local shop for $199 CAD. I thought of this thread, thought “it’s fate! It was meant to be!!” and fired off an email - alas, it was not to be!! Sold in 13 seconds!!!
