a decent mixer should give you a push switch for each channel to select line- or instrument-level for that input. this resolves the synth vs. guitar + pedalboard levels problem. your Tapco lacks that functionality, so i'd say a different mixer is required for a stable, dependable, repeatable solution. you don't want have to dial in the gain at every soundcheck or recording session. and you should be able to find a suitable replacement without getting too spendy.

Flashback to me 3 years ago meeting some rando dude in a mall to buy his Mackie mixer covered in masking tape for $90 “oh of course they had plenty of new bombs, Bob! But you had to go for that retro look!”

(I wanted the many many fx send options but in retrospect the extra input options would have been helpful!)

if you can't pipe it in, you can't pipe it out.

I think that in the end-of-year collapse, I missed a ton of these really helpful and/or interesting responses. Thank you so much, everybody. I *think* I'm going to pickup a Soundcraft Notepad 12FX, once I get some dough.
